Beautiful place my 2 timei stayed here. Walking distance to main street where everything is.you can see the lake right out the window.
Also a lounge inside. Room was spacious and very clean get the room with a couch very comy room is bigger then other places that I stayed at the lake. And you don't need to take your car anywhere it's all in walking distance because you would have to pay motor parking so leave car at hotel many eateries in town.

I liked the views, quietness, fresh air, variety of restaurants, nice spacious metered parking at the city center (pretty cheap compared to Boston), opportunities to walk around the city. Lake Placid is a nice hub for those wishing to go hiking Adirondack mountains and forests but not wanting to live in a campsite.

I really liked the town.
I really liked the town. It's cozy, with old buildings and without skyscrapers. Beautiful hiking options. Nice museum. Many coffee places and dinning options. A little bit overpriced but still OK for a vacation. Definitely it's better to have a kitchen at you stay options to save some money on a food.

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.
The view of the lake and mountains from the room’s windows and balcony was stunning. The bathtub was a walk-in one that had a built in seat with a hand held shower head, as well as an overhead one. The bathroom itself also was spacious with plenty of places to put your toiletries. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Parking was included and finding a space was never a problem. The hotel is very well situated to walking the Lake Placid downtown shopping area easily, as well as getting to places by car.
This place exceeds your expectations. It puts you in the mood for the entire experience of staying in Lake Placid. They have bon fires every evening. You stay in cabins so you feel like you are at camp. The women working there are more than welcoming and helpful. I would have stayed longer here. It is really close to town but you are in the outdoors with trees and views. Perfect.
Accommodation is of a high standard with virtually everything you need for a stay in Lake Placid. High standard of cleanliness throughout and a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook yourself.
Visit was to experience the fall colours, which were exceptional in 2022. Trip was made first two weeks October.
The property is in a lovely area, just slightly removed from the Main Street in a quiet corner of Lake Placid near a beautiful river. The property has convenient roadway access for quick trips out to the lakes and the nearby mountains and valleys.
The room, view of Mirror Lake and the Mountains were outstanding. The Hotel is beautiful, and the staff wonderful. We have visited Lake Placid many times, but this was our first stay here. We would stay here again.
Location, comfortable and clean. Yuri the manager was great! Small problem with ac and he could not have been more helpful getting it fixed! We had a great visit to Lake Placid and this hotel made it special.
I would definitely recommend this place over most hotels in the area
Recently renovated, clean, it looked luxurious , comfortable beds and bedding, large rooms considering the location,
Quite frankly there was nothing I would say that we liked. The carriage House is an old run down hotel with nothing to sy good about. We even found a bug in one of the beds.
Conveniently located to downtown & all things Lake Placid but still out of the bustle of all the people downtown.
Comfortable beds. Good sized rooms. Well-maintained.
The outdoor patio and gas fireplace was the best part of our stay! Rooms are good size, clean, all-new hotel. Staff was very friendly/helpful & accommodating.
