I was upgraded to a bigger room and I had my own outside seating area. Excellent and plenty of choices of food for breakfast. The restaurant also served delicious lunch and dinner. The location was safe and quiet. Security on property. Friendly owners and staff. The back up generator really helped when the whole Zanzibar lost power for several hours.

the Hotel is really tiny! (5 rooms total) Which is nice, personnel knows you, knows what you like and you know them as well. Short way to breakfast, to the pool or reception. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and supporting. If you need something, there is always somebody to help.

Best thing about hotel is that you can ask whatever you want and 99% of your wishes come true.
As European I like some things made differently as they are in Africa but if you ask the hotel staff makes it!
As example I can say they make awsome tuna stakes if you ask them! And they also add rum to your coconut if you ask. So the main tip is - ASK!
Moreover, as experienced travelwr I have been reading reviews about the hotel and two things were very disturbing (a) that the selection of food os not very rich; and (b) that the tides make the sea go away for a far far way.
To tackle that I shall say that (a) food is good and changes everyday, so even on 11 night stay you will have a varios optios to choose from (especialy if you are into sea food); (b) tides are constant but there was no day with out sea at your foot steps to the pool, meaning that some times you have to wait half a day before sea comes back but it eventualy does.
Featuring a terrace with Indian Ocean views, set by sandy Kiwengwa Beach, the 30-acre site includes a spa, pool and sports facilities.

Kiwengwa is a perfect place to spend time with the family. Exquisit nature, kind people and the best food. Boat trips, beach activities, village strolls, getting to know the culture of local people who are very knowlegeable about the natural agriculture and extreemly kind and nice. We loved every minute of our stay at Kiwengwa.

I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water.
I loved the colour, clarity and temperature of the water. The sand was so soft and almost white. I didn't like the hassle on the beach though. It was easier to stay at the hotel to avoid it. But that's not why you visit another country!

Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest.
Quiet part of the island with beach among the nicest. That meant fewer people and tranquility which was what I was looking for during that trip. The hotel was also exactly what I need. All the facilities (gym, massage, sports activities) + excellent food at a reasonable cost. And Fatma the day manager was great. A wonderful person and soul

Front Office led by Victor was outstanding and exceeded our expectations
The restaurant and other staff were extremely courteous and helpful in all circumstances.
The Food and Beverager Manager Zablon is a kind and focused man, results oriented.
We are an American couple who have been living in Tanzania for years. We booked confidently in this corner of paradise which is Kiwengwa, for us the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar. The villa was really good and it’s decor is lovely. The bed is comfortable (superb having the duvet) and the bathroom/shower is quite spacious. Although there were other villas nearby, ours was slightly secluded and private. The hosts really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Before coming to Zanzibar we read a lot about rain season and we had such a good weather during our stay - thank you sun and sky). Z-Lodge has a wonderful location and so close to the ocean, we enjoyed every moment. Restaurant food was fresh and tasty, for breakfasts we had variety of homemade jams - delicious. While low tide we were walking along the beach and observing local women collecting seaweed- it was very interesting. Thank you Z-Lodge for good memories.
Unlike most other resorts this one is right on the beach, there is no barrier between you and the ocean. And since it’s a small place the beach vendors (who are everywhere on every beach in Zanzibar) tend to focus on the beach stretches of the bigger resorts. This is a huge advantage.
Food is great, staff is friendly and welcoming.
Walking up and down the beach it was super evident that this is the best place for kilometers both up and down the beach.
it was small & beautiful, decorated in Zanzibari style, clean & great air conditioning! It’s on the east side of the island, much quieter & secluded than Stone Town. the staff was wonderful & respected our privacy. The food was excellent—- Italian chef cooked great dishes ( I wish he wouldn’t have yelled at his staff so much!)
They were helpful with taxis & excursions. We have no complaints at all & really enjoyed our time there, we also felt very safe!
Great location beutiful view and beautiful hotel, the african details in every corner and the beautiful building of the hotel wow!.The beach Kiwengwa beach is beautiful 5 minits from the hotel. The staf especially my litle two Zanzibar sisters was amazing and all of the staff so welcoming.I will be back! I REALLY recomend this place! The food was great too.My litle Edina i miss you thank you for everything and stay safe.

The Zanbluu Beach Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Zanzibar. You can enjoy a very good breakfast in the morning and a good Dinner in the evening at the Main Hall which has a great view on the sea. The Facility was great and good managed. The quality of the food is very high and the kitchen has a lot of potential albeit minor mistakes to fix to realize this potential. The staff as well as the managers were very friendly.
Very clean and nice European-style hotel, few meters from Kiwengwa Beach, which is by no means one of the best beaches in Zanzibar. The rooms were very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner included. The food was ok, a bit repetitive - all the same every day- but good. Very nice pool area and private spot on the beach. Stay there some days so you get known with people.
best hotel/resort I’ve stayed in, staff soo friendly and professional. they think of everything.
It was summed up by our final night on this Zanzibar trip, we were the last people having dinner at the Jetty restaurant, one of the staff members on the golf buggy knew somehow we were the last and drove to meet us, it saved my wife a long walk in her heels.
The hotel is very beautiful and authentic, the staff are very welcoming. I woulk like to thank KHADIJA from the reception for her beautiful smile and service, she made our stay more beautuiful.. the hotel suggests activities for the guests, very relaxing and comfortable.. the rooms are very big and comfortable.. very beautiful view also from the room
Very cozy hotel with amazing and very friendly staff and hosts. The room was very spacious with clean linens and good pressure in the shower. Breakfasts were amazing and here they can make good espresso as well. The swimming pool and some shadows around it could really provide some rest from the hot weather conditions on Zanzibar.
very nice staff in the hotel and an exceptional host which helps you with every question or problem! fresh friuts of their own garden. the chef cook is open for wishes like special zanzibar dinner. a very nice, clean and quiet place to chill after a kite surfing or tour day without screaming kids.
Not sure where to start...OUR STAY WAS MORE THAN AMAZING.. THE BEACH IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WE HAVE SEEN IN ZANZIBAR... WHITE SANDS AMAZING FOOD.. OUTSTANDING BREAKFAST AND WARM HEARTED ATTENTIVE STAFF.. I WILL DEFINETLY BE COMING BACK. THANK U IMARA FOR THIS EXPERIENCE. FOOODIS A MUST.
Great location, approx 1hr from Zanzibar airport, $50 oneway transport, great communication thru "Whats App", driver was kind and respectful. Resort is really nice with gorgeous grounds, clean pools.
The resort mostly has a European clientele.
Workers are kind and helpful
We have booked this hotel as our wedding venue and we went ahead to scout the location and hotel. The hotel was very accommodating. By far the nicest property on the stretch of Kiwengwa beach.
Wonderful personal touches throughout the stay and a quiet oasis. Felt very private.
The dinner was delicious every night, lovely staff, specially Estrella from the reception!! Thank you for the lovely hospitality! Kiwengwa beach hotel felt comfortable like home. Beach side was so wide, lots of sunbeds, variety of pools… just amazing stay!! Recommend 100%%
The place gives off a Greece vibe and it’s so peaceful.Gibson was so helpful , he helped us with whatever we needed.
The place is next to the beach and their breakfast is so nice .
I definitely recommend this place and will always come back if I ever come to Zanzibar
It was such a wonderful stay of my life, the customer care was top notch. Victor the front office manager makes a lot of difference at Kiwengwa beach.Always available to assist.
